Motorsports has played a huge role in my life since I watched my first NASCAR race in 2011. It was one of the few things in my life that felt stable and that I could easily understand – a huge plus for a military child.
As I grew older and began following more sports, I realized I wanted to pursue a career in the sports industry. I’ve spent two seasons working in Minor League Baseball and one season working in the Southern Professional Hockey League, giving me experience across different levels of professional sports. I currently serve as a scorekeeper and field supervisor for the City of Fayetteville Department of Parks and Recreation.
My work in sports has also led me to journalism. During my time with The Voice, Fayetteville State University’s student newspaper, I’ve written over 30 articles and interviewed students, national athletes and local figures. After serving three semesters as Sports Editor, I edited more than 75 sports articles to ensure they met AP style and The Voice’s publication standards.
In May 2026, I was elected Editor-in-Chief of The Voice for the 2026-2027 academic year. In that role, I’ve continued developing my experience in journalism while taking on greater responsibility for the publication’s digital presence, audience analytics and overall direction.
Since then, I’ve covered numerous breaking news topics for both Kickin’ the Tires and Frontstretch, two nationally respected motorsports media organizations.
I’m continuing to build experience across sports communications, digital media, journalism and sports operations, with the goal of turning my passion for sports into a career.
