The Voice’s 80th Anniversary
During the 2025-2026 academic year, The Voice, Fayetteville State University’s student newspaper, celebrated its 80th anniversary. I contributed to a long-term archival and editorial project focused on preserving the publication’s history and producing commemorative content.
As part of this effort, I compiled a comprehensive record of past student staff members dating back to 1946, creating a database of nearly 500 individuals using Microsoft Excel.
I also worked alongside the university’s Digital Initiatives Librarian to identify and organize missing print editions from 2013-2026. This included preparing and submitting approximately 75 physical newspapers to ensure their archive was complete and accessible.
In addition to this archival work, I designed two commemorative pages for the anniversary edition using Adobe InDesign, contributing to the final published issue of the year in April 2026.
This project contributed to preserving and digitizing a significant portion of the publication’s historical record.
